Job Summary

To provide secretarial and administrative support to the Manager of Operations.  Performs administrative duties for the Senior Management Team.  Performs duties of highly confidential nature which requires comprehensive knowledge of the company’s policies and operations.  Responsibilities require discretion, judgment, tact, and poise.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs a broad variety of highly confidential and administrative support duties to relieve Manager of Operations and Senior Management of administrative details.
  • Orders supplies, schedules meetings, and maintains appointment calendar for Manager of Operations
  • Assists Manager of Operations with correspondence, staff meetings, notices, agendas, and minutes. Provides organization of all documents and correspondence.
  • Receives Manager of Operations faxes and opens mail, determines who should respond to request, and forwards information as appropriate. Drafts and sends routine correspondence for Manager of Operations.
  • Assists in preparation of special meetings.
  • Undertakes other projects and assignments as specified by Manager of Operations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Well-developed reading, writing, and mathematical skills.
  • Must have knowledge of secretarial, office administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Advanced administrative, secretarial and clerical skills.
  • Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures, products and services.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry.
  • Exemplary skills in prioritizing and organizing multiple work assignments. The ability to be well organized and accept responsibility for and work under occasional stress situations with frequent interruptions.
  • Skill in identifying problems and resolutions.
  • Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain memory for numerous details.
  • Considerable ability to maintain efficient workflow.


Any combination equivalent to the following education and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities would qualify.  A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:

High school diploma; A.A. degree helpful; secretarial school preferred; previous telecommunications experience helpful.
